A house for four people (parents and two children), combined with a coffee shop, located in Da Nang, Vietnam, and designed by Tropical Space in 2018. The project is built with local clay bricks, that bring a familiar sense of coolness, and boasts an architectural form reminiscent of a cuckoo clock. Hence the name. The house includes three blocks, linked together by buffer layers, strategically placed on another rectangular block that functions as a base. It is in the latter that we find the living room, with its indoor space and outdoor garden area. The arches and walls keep the family’s activities private, without danger of becoming claustrophobic. The breeze that runs through every part of the house is relaxing and cools the tropical summer.
