Created for large families, the Hovey Residence occupies its own special place by a lake in a south-eastern Quebec, in Canada. The design that it boasts turns it into an authentic observation platform, from where the views never seem to tire or cease. The Hovey is the result of a renovation process, which has transformed a ranch-style house – dating from 1970 – into a home with new horizons, geared towards a sustainable future, which has not neglected the identity that has held its walls together for so many years. The wooden cladding takes pride of place in the work by 1628 inc., along with the simplicity of the house with its exact volume, which incorporates exterior extensions in order to ensure the contemplative nature that is so characteristic of it. In essence, a complex with time, where different times coexist.
