In the heart of Singapore’s Business District, the Oasia Downtown, a skyscraper that is different in every way from traditional models, and consisting of a hotel and offices, has risen up. The WOHA firm has created a series of different strata that form generous public areas for leisure and social interaction throughout the building. Functional and comfortable, these are tropical spaces with gardens, natural light and fresh air, rather than confined indoor spaces. Not depending on views to the outside, since the building is surrounded by many other tall buildings of no visual interest, the Oasia Downtown creates its own landscapes instead.
