This building is located in a prime location: facing the Ria de Aveiro lagoon, on the western edge of the city. The volumetry, designed by the firm RVDM Arquitectos, led by Ricardo Vieira de Melo, rises from the ground to free the public space and to pre-empt visual contact with the canals. There are three residential floors girdled by a white concrete structure that supports the wooden volumes, seeking out the light and the landscape. Functionally, the building is organised into three layers: the ground floor, which defines an antechamber in preparation for the entrance to the residences; the residential floors, which are organised by orienting the social spaces to the south/west and the seaside; and finally, the bedrooms in the opposite, quieter quadrant. The basement floor offers a complementary programme with a communal lounge and an indoor swimming pool facing the courtyard.
