With a premium positioning, the Palácio Faria has been designed to attend to a unique lifestyle in Príncipe Real, one of Lisbon’s noblest and most iconic neighbourhoods, which, due to its location, offers fantastic views over the River Tagus and a century-old garden. It stands out for the grandeur of its façade, on the south side, which successfully portrays the lavish taste of its original owner, D. Maria Rosa de Faria, who built it at the end of the 19th century.
This is the first full residential urban renovation project completed by EastBanc Portugal, a real estate development and management company, specialised in the acquisition, remodelling and management of real estate assets, particularly in the field of urban regeneration, which has been investing for over 20 years in this area of the capital.
Consisting of six apartments (3- to 5+1-bedroom), with gross areas between 220 and 400 sqm, entered via the Jardim do Príncipe Real public garden, the development also has a garage with 14 parking spaces, as well as balconies, terraces or gardens. The apartments harmoniously combine history, comfort, sophistication and timelessness.
Designed by architect Eduardo Souto Moura, this project has focused on returning its original dignity to the building. Of high architectural value, the interventions made took into account the respect for the building’s morphology and all the palace’s architectural features, which meant a significant investment in order to achieve maximum respect for the high renovation criteria. This may be why it was the big winner in the best residential renovation category of the Prémio Nacional de Reabilitação Urbana 2020 – the National Award of Urban Renovation 2020 -, as well as at the Prémios Construir 2020 construction awards. In the words of Souto Moura, "the Palácio Faria represents an emotional element of a collective that is the city”.
