Viagem do Azulejo para Arquitectura

PHOTOGRAPHY Direitos Reservados

Galeria Ratton, in Lisbon, began its project within the field of ceramic production in October 1987 with the exhibition Azulejos para Arquitectura, which included never-before-seen works by Júlio Pomar and the first ceramic tile works by Lourdes Castro, Menez, Paula Rego, etc. 30 years down the line, the gallery now presents Viagem do Azulejo para Arquitectura [Journey from Azulejo to Architecture], which runs until December 29. In the ‘inaugural’ room the exhibition of 1987 is recreated, in the central room there is a collective intervention and the third room is dedicated to the presentation of the multiple tiles made by all the artists over these thirty years.
