To celebrate its 115th anniversary, Harley-Davidson® has announced the development of eight new custom Softail® bikes for the year 2018. The Fat Boy®, the Heritage Classic, the Low Rider®, the Softail Slim®, the Deluxe, the Breakout®, the Fat Bob® and the Street Bob® are set to take to the streets... looking even bolder and more elegant. Contemporary design has given rise to unique and stunning looks. The eight Softail® prototypes combine the hard-riding performance of the Dyna® range with the custom looks of the Softail® range. Overflowing with history, Harley-Davidson’s style DNA remains true to its predecessors, and simply boasts a new foundation of style, comfort and performance.

The legendary Fat Bob® motorcycle has been given a bold and muscular look, highlighted by its powerful engine and improved ride (it has a classic nacelle headlight, a 160 mm front tyre and a 240 mm rear tyre, coating the solid lakester front alloy wheel and ABS as standard). The Heritage Classic features design more in line with the blacked-out styling of vintage Harley-Davidson models, from the 1950s (it boasts a detachable windshield, new waterproof rigid saddlebags, higher suspension, cruise control and ABS as standard). The Low Rider® model was inspired by the individualism of the 70s custom chopper era (it has manometers, headlight and graphics in the Throwback-style tank, 19-inch radiate wheel at the front and 16-inch at the rear and a 2-in-2 Shotgun exhaust). The Softail Slim® pays tribute to post-war custom bobbers (it has laced wheels with dark finishes and Hollywood handlebars, tuck and roll seat and an elegant sleek front nacelle). The Deluxe for its part, as a more classic model, shines with its chrome work (it boasts LED lighting: headlamp, running lights, Tombstone rear light and direction indicators, pull-back handlebar and ABS a standard). The Breakout® is now more agile (benefitting from a new 13.2-litre fuel tank, 49-mm long front forks, 18-inch Gasser gloss-black style cast aluminium rear wheel (240 mm tyre), 21-inch to the front (130 mm tyre), Daymaker LED headlamp and ABS as standard). With asphalt-munching traction comes the Fat Bob® (featuring a 2-1-2 upswept performance exhaust with custom finish; 150-mm tyre at the front and 180 mm to the rear; double disc front brakes; 13.2-litre fuel tank; inverted 43-mm cartridge style front forks).

Finally, the Street Bob® has a two-fist-in-the-wind attitude (enjoying 13.2-litre fuel tank, black spoke wheels and the lowest MSRP of the Softail range). If you have already chosen yours, take your dreams of freedom to the road!
