In partnership with the UK’s Post Carbon Lab, Pakistani producer Azgard9 has developed a coat that transforms carbon dioxide into oxygen. Portuguese brands Stream and Tough Guy and This is Pacifica are also involved in the concept. Named CO2AT, the coat has a hood treated with microbial pigmentation that makes it behave like a plant by using photosynthetic micro-organisms that allow it to absorb carbon dioxide and transform it into glucose and oxygen. According to the information on Stream and Though Guy’s website, the coat thus releases oxygen throughout its life cycle – equivalent to that produced by an oak tree – and improves the environment.
