Da Luz e das Sombras exhibition organized by the City Councils of Matosinhos and Setúbal and by esad–idea, Research in Design and Art, presents 34 originals by Manuel Lapa , among drawings and models; 66 fingerprints on paper; 56 printed pieces; and also three illustrations on cut-out vinyl. A total of 156 pieces are on display at Casa do Design Matosinhos until March 22nd. Manuel Lapa (1914-1979) is a top name in the Portuguese visual history. He excelled in the production of iconic work for the Estado Novo (during dictatorship), but his work was not limited to the collaboration with the regime.
