Located in Lisbon, the Museum of Design and Fashion (MUDE), closed since 2016 for complete renovation works, will reopen to the public at the end of 2023, the director of the space, Bárbara Coutinho, has announced. The collection of the old Cornucópia Theatre, which ceased activity in 2016, is one of the donations that have expanded the museum’s collection.
MUDE, an eight-storey building, the former headquarters of the Banco Nacional Ultramarino, in Rua Augusta, in downtown Lisbon, continued its activity in an exhibition programme inside and outside the capital, entitled "MUDE Away from Home”. The extensive renovation works "have been running smoothly, despite this global geopolitical scenario, which affects everyone, generating some difficulties in the supply of materials and the increase of their cost,” Bárbara Coutinho explained.
