Nike has created new shoes that promise to make its users run faster. They are called Nike Vaporfly 4% and have drawn so much attention with their results that they can even be banned from the Tokyo Olympics. The model is made with a combination of advanced foams and a carbon fiber plate that helps recover up to 4% of the energy from one step to the next. According to a test by The New York Times, an athlete who used the Vaporfly 4% ran 4% to 5% faster than another (with the same handicap) using ordinary racing shoes.
