The prefabricated collective housing project in Vale de Cambra, in the Aveiro district, has won 2nd prize for Best Construction of the Portuguese speaking world, organised by ArchDaily, a renowned international architecture portal. The project was designed by SUMMARY, a Portuguese architecture studio founded in the Science and Technology Park of the University of Oporto, and the 998-sqm construction was done by Farcimar, a company that belongs to a group based in Arouca. In all, 15 projects were chosen, from hundreds of buildings built in Portuguese-speaking countries, for the Construction of the Year Award 2021, of which five finalists were by Portuguese architects.
