A couple with two children, who travel frequently but who also often invite friends to their home, threw down the gauntlet to Anna Kovalchenko, a renowned interior designer. Their aim was for their 80-sqm Moscow apartment to reflect their love of travel by assigning a theme to each room: Greece for the kitchen and terrace, Africa for the living room, the tropical islands of the Indian Ocean for children’s bedrooms and the style of an urban hotel for their own room. With the use of primarily natural materials – wood, stone, metal –, with rich and warm colours and textures, and with furniture purposely designed for the space, a relaxed, cosy atmosphere, packed with character, was created.
