In the centre of Toronto, Canada, a new condominium is rising, featuring interior design by Cecconi Simone Inc., a company that honours the industrial roots of the building and its history, and which has been awarded in the area of interior design with the most diverse projects dotted around the world. In this particular case we’re talking about the presentation centre for Waterworks, which was triumphant at the World Interior News Awards last February. This condominium project will include residential suites, a state-of-the-art YMCA facility and a large food hall. From the old existing building – which was once a food market – this new condominium concept has been created. Cecconi Simone, inspired by the original building, was tasked with converting it into an engaging sales space and visual portal attractive to the future lifestyle on offer. Accordingly, an intimate residential experience was created, which emphasised the grand scale of the 3825-sqft space and the 30-ft ceilings. Raw metals and elegant details of well-worn leather, jump right out at you. The photographs mounted on the walls behind glass panes create the sensation of spaces to be discovered. Here the history of the building is celebrated.
