Mercedes-Benz has revealed the world’s first electric luxury car, wrapping it in flowing lines. At the front of the car the former grille is replaced by an eye-catching panel. The headlights are connected by a strip of light with a three-dimensional star pattern derived from the iconic star of the Stuttgart brand. The absence of a combustion engine has maximised interior space: the boot is large and becomes enormous when the seats are folded down. The EQS also debuts the MBUX Hyperscreen, a visual solution based on three OLED screens forming an uninterrupted 141 cm wide panel. The energy needed to set the car in motion is provided by two 400 V batteries, which allow a maximum range of up to 770 km.
