Just as Mestre Gonçalo Rodrigues dos Santos and Serafim Pinto Leite intended, the legacy of decades has been passed on to future generations. A young, determined and responsible team is taking the history of this brand abroad. BICAchair retains the roots of the original Portuguese chair, but now presents it as a new design icon on a global scale.

The name takes us back to coffee, and "BICA” is said to be short for "Beba Isto Com Açúcar” (Drink This With Sugar). For more than 70 years, this chair has been a seat for poets, artists, politicians, students, friends and family, and today it stands as a symbol of Portuguese culture, identity and art. Redesigned and adapted for different purposes and distributed in five collections (Gents, Classic, Delight, Inborn and Cork), the BICAchair, with a variety of finishes, ecological anti-corrosion treatment, sustainable materials, wood in natural oils and cork, is suitable for both outdoors and indoors.
